My Artist Statement

My practice is about memory and place, turning fleeting moments into something tangible and lasting. I work across watercolour, acrylic, and mixed media, using each to recreate experiences and create a kind of time capsule for myself and my viewers.
In watercolour, I explore perspective with a soft, relaxed approach, overlaid with black fine liner. I vary the line thickness gradually and fluidly, reflecting the calm, reflective mood of the places I aim to capture. In my acrylic work, I use layering and texture to recreate scenes from memory, focusing on light and shadow to create warmth and draw viewers into the painting.
Recently, I’ve expanded into multisensory installation, allowing viewers to immerse themselves fully in my work and my memories. I also sketch, photograph, and explore sculpture as ways to quickly record ideas and engage with space in different forms.
For me, art isn’t passive—it’s an active, impactful way of preserving experience. Every piece I make is a statement: that beauty exists in both the monumental and the everyday, and that art has the power to immortalise experience.
